ZAQ International Literary Forum UAE embarked on its practical journey in the field of literature and has since continued its journey of success.
Alongside
this Literary Forum is also an Inspiration of ZAQ International Institute and it is an educational endeavor, ZAQ International Institute established the ZAQ International Literary and Performing Arts Forum on Sunday, September 15, 2024. During the inauguration of this forum, the Board of Directors outlined its goals and objectives.
Forum’s Chairperson Nibras and Founder of ZAQ Digital TV
Ms Nibras Sohail initiated the discussion and announced the appointment of the renowned poet, writer, intellectual, and recipient of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Farhat Abbas Shah, as the forum’s Patron-in-Chief. Additionally, the well-known author Sadaf Mirza was warmly welcomed as the Forum’s President, and her inclusion in the forum was deemed a positive development. Sadaf Mirza, joining from Denmark via a special Zoom meeting, welcomed all the guests and extended her best wishes.
Forum’s Chairperson Nibras Sohail thanked all the guests and, while outlining the forum’s objectives, emphasized the need for such a platform to promote serious and quality literature and to facilitate dialogue with genuine writers, poets, prose writers, and artists. Since ZAQ is an internationally registered platform, its scope will extend not only to the UAE but also to Pakistan, Europe, and other Western countries. Under this platform, we will organize international online discussions, conferences, and dialogues, and we will also welcome writers and artists from different parts of the world who visit the UAE.
The Forum’s General Secretary, Muhammad Sohail Anjum, praised ZAQ’s academic and literary journey and its organizers. He expressed his commitment to contributing to the growth of this subsidiary forum of ZAQ International Institute. Anjum also mentioned that in addition to literature, they will work on promoting performing arts, including scriptwriting, production, music, and acting.
A comprehensive plan will be developed to include artists from around the world.

Nibras Sohail highlighted the forum’s objectives, stating that ZAQ will not only become a prominent educational institution in the future but will also welcome students from around the world to acquire professional non-curricular skills.
Nibras Sohail is a distinguished intellectual figure who has been residing in Dubai for the past 18 years. She has worked as an English lecturer at a college in Dubai and has also served as a Principal at a Pakistani college; additionally delivering lectures in Sarhad University sub- in RAK. During her academic journey, she introduced the book Parwaaz for Urdu literature at the Sharjah International Book Fair in 2022. That same year, she also translated the renowned writer Farhat Abbas Shah’s book ‘Urdu Ka Idraki Tanqeedi Dabistan’ into English, now available under the title Perceptionism.
In every society, teachers play a vital role in the promotion and advancement of knowledge, literature, culture, and civilization. Nibras Sohail continues her journey with the same commitment to this cause.
